Name Reservation Fee

1. Check for availability in New York

Once you’ve done your due diligence and know your preferred business name is available, you can reserve the name with the state by filing the name reservation form with the Department of State.

The fee is $20, and the name will be held for 60 days.

Cost to Register Your LLC in New York

To officially form your LLC, you’ll file articles of organization by visiting the Department of State website. You’ll need the following information:

  • Your LLC’s name
  • The name and address of your agent for service of process (can be inside or outside of New York)
  • The name and address of your registered agent (optional, must be within New York)
  • The organizer’s name and address
  • The filer’s name and address

In New York, the fee is $200, and your LLC should be approved in seven business days.
